SOMEDI – the Social Medical Service – supports two central pillars: education and medical aid. These areas often coincide, because access to education and health go hand in hand, especially in disadvantaged regions. Through targeted support for schools, scholarships, aids and medical care, SOMEDI creates sustainable opportunities for children and adults to shape their lives in a self-determined and healthy way.
Thanks to its long-standing partnerships and direct links to India, SOMEDI can ensure that aid actually reaches where it is needed. There is no waste of funds, as all costs incurred are covered privately by the dedicated staff. SOMEDI itself only pays for liability insurance, meaning that overheads are less than 1%, which is negligible.
Education
SOMEDI promotes education by providing financial support to several schools and offering targeted assistance on the ground. This gives children and young people the chance of a better future.
Medical assistance
SOMEDI provides urgently needed medicines and medical supplies where they are most needed. This makes medical care accessible to many people.
